The Insights Transformation Index (InsightsTI)

is a national transformation index that seeks to track progress made by South Africa since the dawn of democracy in 1994.

InsightsTI is an initiative of AnswertheCall Community Economic Development NPC, a non profit organisation that was established in 2014 to provide communities with the skills, knowledge, capabilities and capacity to transform their economic and social well being.

InsightsTI should be viewed in the context of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which are a global call to action to end poverty, protect the earth’s environment and climate, and ensure that people everywhere can enjoy peace and prosperity.

About InsightsTI

The Insights Transformation Index (InsightsTI) is carried out in consultation with an interdisciplinary board of advisors that helps to define the focus, identify challenges and debate project results.

InsightsTI Board members play a crucial role in helping us establish the InsightsTI’s conceptual framework, and continue to ensure sound results for each edition through their expertise and counsel.

The InsightsTI core team is made up of 18 experienced researchers based in South Africa, most of whom have Masters, Doctoral or Post Doctoral qualifications. They are supported by final year university research students at Masters and Doctoral level, as well as recognised civil society leaders. The team is coordinated by a globally respected transformation expert who is well established in South Africa and beyond.

The InsightsTI team has benefitted from the support, advocacy and counsel of many transformation experts and practitioners. The quality of the Transformation Index hinges on the quality of our reports. They are the backbone of all our studies and evaluations.

We are therefore proud to work with more than 80 experts from leading academic institutions and civil society organizations worldwide. The knowledge within this competent network of outstanding transformation experts provides the qualitative and quantitative basis for InsightsTI’s international comparative analysis.
